Saturday May 2, 2015  11AM  Annual Sandy Hook Outing, We will meet at the Parsippany Waterview Park & Ride on Route 46, at 11:00 AM. Or you can meet us down at the Sea Gull’s Nest Restaurant parking lot in Sandy Hook between 12:00 – 12:30 PM, just over the bridge on the hook. It is the first parking lot on the right with a restaurant. There is no parking fee. Bring a lunch & drink of your choice. After assembling at the beach, we will eat our lunch, take a head count for dinner and then head out to enjoy the park. You can go biking, walking or just sit on the beach; it’s your day, go out and enjoy it. At 3:30 we will reassemble to drive to the restaurant, location to be determined. The trip is weather dependent. An email will be sent during the week preceding the event to confirm. Please advise if you plan to meet at the Park & Ride and also, if you plan to bring a bike. Sunday May 3, 2015  11AM Lafayette Village Walk & Lunch  We will meet at the Route 94 side of Lafayette Village. We will walk the trails if they look okay; if not, we will walk around the village.  After the walk we will find a restaurant in the village to have our lunch. Rain will cancel. Saturday May 16, 2015 10 AM  Raptor Trust & Lunch, 1390 White Bridge Rd., Millington,NJ Meet in the parking lot at 9:45 AM for a 10 AM indoor program, “All About Owls” (limit 35 people) followed by an outdoor tour of the aviaries.  An optional lunch is offered at a local eatery, ordering off the menu.  Cost is $5 per person for program/tour. MUST HAVE no later than May 10.  Please indicate if you will join us for lunch. Directions to the Raptor Trust:  I-287 South to Exit 30-A (N. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge).  Follow off ramp, pass straight through traffic light.  When you come to a fork, bear left to stay straight onto S. Maple Ave.  Continue through town, passing horse stables on left and continue to top of hill (church on right) and flashing light. (Name of road changes to Basking Ridge Rd. and then Long Hill Rd.) Continue straight about ½ mile and make left onto Carlton Road.  Follow to end and make right onto White Bridge Road. Sunday May 17, 2015  11 AM Camp Jefferson Annual Weenie Roast Hosted by our retired Presidents & Trail Maintenance Come enjoy the great outdoors while cooking your hot dogs over an open fire. We will need to do some trail maintenance, so please bring your shears, gloves and bug spray and help clear the trail. Directions to Camp Jefferson:  Take Route 80 from either direction to Route 15 North.  Take Route 15 North to Weldon Road (which is approx. 5 miles north of Route 80).  The Weldon Road exit from Route 15 is immediately after the Lake Shawnee exit.  Proceed on Weldon Road 7/10 of a mile. Tuesday, May 19, 2015  10:30AM  Grey Towers and Lunch  151 Grey Towers Dr., Milford PA : We will meet at 10:30 AM. in Lafayette Village parking lot in front of Lafayette House Restaurant, to car pool to lunch at the Waterwheel Café, 150 Water Street, a local Milford restaurant owned by an acquaintance of Fritzy Garvey, who made the arrangements for our meal (thank you Fritzy). Lunch will be followed by a 2 PM tour of the magnificent National Historic Landmark home of Gifford Pinchot, one of the founders of the National Forest Service, an environmentalist, and past Governor of Pennsylvania. Cost of trip: under age 62 - $23, age 62 & over - $22. This includes: lunch of ½ sandwich of your choice (country ham, roast beef, turkey, genoa salami, corned beef, tuna salad or chicken salad with grapes & walnuts), plus a cup of soup (vegetarian or meat based), soft drink (soda, iced tea, coffee or tea), and apple pie square or brownie for dessert, plus entry fee for Grey Towers. Sunday May 31, 2015 10AM – 4PM Rutherfund Hall Open House on 1686 Rt 517 Allamuchy will host Preservation Day Nature hikes throughout 9000 acres and tours of the Mansion.  A donation of $5.

Saturday June 6, 2015 11:30AM The Book Barn Book Shop and the Bargain Barn Thrift Shop,      18 Pocono Road, Denville, NJ. Meet at 11:30 AM with lunch to follow at Hunan Taste Restaurant, 67 Bloomfield Avenue, Denville, @ 1PM. Directions: Eastbound on Rte. 46 and just past the Route 80 underpass entering Denville, keep left after the 1st light, then at the next light turn left into Denville immediate right onto Broadway , go to 1st light and turn left onto Diamond Spring Rd. Go two blocks on Diamond Spring Road, then turn right onto Pocono Road, The Book Barn and Thrift Barn are one block down on right hand side of Pocono Road, opposite Franciscan Oaks. Park in the lot for Barn. If you are going Westbound on Route 46 take the Denville exit and bear right onto Broadway. Turn right on Second Avenue and then turn right onto Diamond Spring Road. Then, at the light, make a right turn onto Pocono Road. The Book Barn Shop and the Bargain Barn Thrift Shop are one block down on the right-hand side of the road. Sunday June 7, 2015 11 AM Walk at Camp Dawson & Brown Bag Lunch, Jacksonville Rd., Towaco, NJ.  Pack yourself a nice lunch; then come out and enjoy a nice morning walk, breath in some clean fresh air; after our walk we will eat our lunch. Directions: Take Rt.287 to exit 47 to Rt. 202 North for approx. 1 ½ miles, keep RR station on your right & stay straight at Firehouse Rd. . Make left onto Jacksonville Rd. Follow Jacksonville Rd. for 1 mile then you will see the sign for Camp Dawson on left. We will meet by Big Red Building. After our walk & lunch, we will stop for home made ice cream. Sunday, June 14, 2015-11:00 A.M. –Picnic at Lenni Lenape Picnic Area,1 Knoll Drive, Parsippany-Entry $6.00 Join us for the first picnic of the season Please bring a dish to share. OSF will supply burgers, hot dogs and beverages.Directions:From Rt. 46 West- Turn right onto N. Beverwyck Rd. (From Rt 46 East turn left) Proceed approximately 2 miles to the end of the road (blinking light).   Make a left onto Knoll Road.  Make first right onto Knoll Drive. Picnic area is on left just past the country club which is on the right... From Route 23  Pompton area, take I-287 South to Exit 47 (Route 202, Montville, Lincoln Park). Make a left off the ramp onto 202 South and follow around to the Montville Inn.  At the Inn go STRAIGHT onto River Road (keeping the inn on your right).  Follow River Road for about 1.5 miles to Condurso’s Garden Center on left.  Make the next right onto Knoll Road.  Pass Delta gas station on right and take next right onto Knoll Drive (Knoll Country Club).  Drive past the club house and Lenni Lenape Picnic Area will be ahead on the left. Sunday June 28, 2015 11AM Horseshoe Lake Walk and Lunch   We will meet at 11AM at the Righter Rd. entrance parking lot. We will walk the Black River part.  This is a completely shaded and level walk.  It is about 2 miles round trip.  Then we can lunch at Roxbury dinner.  Directions:  RT10 W  to Eyland Ave jughandle to crossover Rt10.  Follow Eyland Ave. to next light & make left on to Righter Rd. Saturday July 11, 2015  Hawthorne Cabellero's Corp. Competition. Each year the Cabellero's host a competition known as the Grand Prix. This year’s event will be held in the Clifton High School Stadium. If you enjoy Drum and Bugle Bands you will really enjoy this evening event. Saturday July 18, 2015 5:30PM Mary Poppins Plays in the Park Outdoor Amphitheater, Valley Rd., Basking Ridge.  Meet at 5:30PM for an 8PM. show in order to reserve your seat. Admission is FREE. 

We normally eat in the picnic area near the amphitheater. There are also paved walking trails. Things to bring: lawn chair, picnic meal and beverage (non alcoholic ONLY), sweatshirt or jacket, flashlight for the walk back to the cars.  Rain cancels.
