Sunday September 6, 2015 11AM Silas Condit Park Walk & Brown Bag Lunch We will meet in the top parking lot. Silas Condict Park in Kinnelon off Kinnelon Rd. This walk is a hilly gravel path.  Directions: From Rt. 23 take Kinnelon Rd up the hill past the little cemetery right onto Louis Arthur Dr to top parking lot. Saturday September 12, 2015 11AM Great Falls & Paterson Museum We will meet at 11 AM at Willowbrook Mall near the Olive Garden. We will car pool to the falls stopping for lunch at Libby’s. After a tour of the falls & museum, we will then proceed to the Paterson Museum, cost is $2.00.We will return to Willowbrook for dinner at the Houlihan’s. Sunday September 13, 2015 11AM Montville Picnic at the Montville Community Park. Please bring a dish to share. We will supply the hamburgers, hot dogs & the drinks. Directions: Rt. 287 North to exit 47 (Montville), at the end of the ramp turn left, go to the next light (Changebridge Rd) turn right. The park is approx 2 miles down on the left. Once you enter the lower parking area go past the rest rooms, following the road up to the back of the park area. Sunday September 27, 2015 11AM Big Pocono State Park Walk & Lunch Big Pocono State Park is the mountain location of Camelback ski & water parks. The lovely summit has vista parking & restrooms. Fifty feet below is a 1 mile Rim Road around the mountain and a snack bar at the top of a ski lift. We will meet at the snack bar. For those who wish, we will ride share to the summit, then walk down and around the Rim Road, finishing at the snack bar. Total mileage would be about 3 miles. Sunday October 3, 2015 10 AM Park Lake Walk We will meet at the Gazebo. Once around the lake is ¾ of a mile, we will go around 4 times. After our walk we will go to the Pot Belly for lunch. Directions take Rt 80 to exit 35 toward the Mall left onto Mineral Spring Rd., right on to Fleetwood Rd. right onto Mt. Hope Ave. Park on the right by the Gazebo. Sunday October 11, 2015 11 AM Camp Jefferson Guest Speaker & Trail Maintenance:  Meg Wastie of the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts in Madison will present their “What's Cookin” program. We will learn about old-fashioned cooking techniques through hands-on examination of cooking utensils and food related-artifacts from the museum.  A discussion about favorite recipes and food and cooking memories will follow. Trail Maintenance. Welcome back to Camp Jefferson. I hope many of you will come prepared to help walk around the camp and help clean up. This is part of our payment for free use of the camp. Saturday October 17, 2015 9:30AM Hudson Farm Fall Charity Hike 270 Stanhope-Sparta Rd. Hopatcong, NJ07843  The hike is 5.2 mile trail; this hike is on a mountainous trail and not on paved roads.  Hudson Farm will donate $1 per year of age of each hiker to a local participating charity of your choice. Free lunch & gift. We will meet in the parking lot. If using GPS enter address listed above. Directions: Route 80 W to Exit 25, (Stanhope, Newton) Exit here and proceed for 1/4 mile. Then bear left onto Rt. 206 North At 3rd traffic light turn right onto Lackawanna Drive, (Rt.607 South) Near the Shoprite Plaza. Continue for 2 miles, (see Lake Lackawanna on your right). At the stop sign, continue straight but veer to your right a little. Proceed through a tunnel and continue for 1 1/2 miles. Come to a flashing red light, turn left onto Stanhope Road (Rt.605 North) Continue for approx. 500 yards.  See a gap in the guardrail; see sign Hudson Farm turn right into driveway. Sunday October 18, 2015 2 PM Highland Farms (Lentinnis Farms) Corn Maze and Dinner. We will meet at 1:15PM at Exit 30 off Rt. 80 Mt Arlington Train Station or meet me at the Farm. The cost is $10 for the maze. After going thru the maze we will have an early dinner at Bells Mansion Route 206 S, Stanhope.  We will order off the menu at your expense. Saturday October 24, 2015 11 AM & 2 PM Cemetery Walks at Laurel Hill, Milford PA.

Group 1 Laurel Hill departs Lafayette Village at 9:45AM with Donna Gorman (973-584-6896). Group 2 led by MaryAnn Albarez (973-694-2354) leaves from Lafayette Village at 11:30 AM. Group 1 &  2 lunch at Milford restaurant at 12:30PM. Laurel Hill cemetery has uneven terrain therefore two individual groups were formed. Please wear sturdy shoes & perhaps bring a walking pole or stick. Both groups merge to walk Milford Cemetery at 2pm. Sign up at Sept.-Oct meetings. Saturday November 7, 2015 9 AM Lakota Wolf Preserve Tour (Columbia, NJ ).  Meet Brace (973-208-0822) at Lafayette Village (by Lafayette House Restaurant) or meet Patty (973-668-2850) at Mt. Arlington Train Station at 9AM to arrive at the wolf preserve at 9:45 for a 10:30 tour. Cost is $16.05. During the presentation you will learn about the social structure of wolf packs, their eating habits, their interaction with man and many other interesting facts. Saturday November 14, 2015 9:15 AM Gillinder Glass Factory Tour (Port Jervis,NY) ).  Meet at Lafayette Village (by Lafayette House Restaurant) at 9:15am for a 10:30 tour. Cost is $4.00 for 55yrs & up, $5.00 for adults. This is a special Glass Blowing Demonstration & guided factory tour featuring guest artists who will amaze you with their unique, distinctive, glass blowing talents. Then you can browse the gift shop and perhaps take home a beautiful piece of glass, jewelry, etc.  We will lunch at Waterwheel Café, Milford,PA , $15.00 includes ½ sandwich, soup or salad, soft drink & dessert. Then we will visit the Mansion of George MacCulloch father of the Morris Canal.  The Mansion was built in 1810 with splendid period rooms, gardens & a collection of Thomas Nast’s work.
