Friday, March 31, 2017 5:45 PM Asian Diner for Dinner and Music.1691 US 46, Ledgewood, NJ.  The restaurant offers an extensive menu in Chinese, Thai, and Japanese food.  Each person will order off the menu.  The restaurant will be featuring the singing group Narrow Escape Duo, who will be providing dinner music (jazz, standards, and some surprises etc.) from 6-9pm.  One of the members of the duo is the daughter of our new member, Barbara Pescow.   Directions: Route 80 West, to Exit 30, Howard Blvd, Mt. Arlington.  Keep left to take the ramp toward Roxbury.  Turn left onto Howard Blvd.  At fork go right onto Mt Arlington Road.  Turn right onto Route 46 West.  Go about 1.72 miles.  Restaurant is located at the Quality Inn. Sunday April 2, 2017  11:00 AM Park Lake Walk & Lunch at the Pot Belly We will meet once again at the Gazebo and take a lovely Sunday walk around the lake. (Once around is ¾ of a mile, we try to do 4 times around). You can go around as many times as you like. Once we have finished our walk, we will head over to the Pot Belly café and have our lunch. Directions: Take Rt. 80W to exit 35 towards the mall, left onto Mineral Spring Rd. then right onto Fleetwood, at the stop sign make a right onto Mt. Hope Rd. Park Lake is on the right. Saturday April 8, 2017 10:30 AM Walk at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum & Brown Bag Lunch 353 East Hanover Ave. Morristown We will meet in the parking lot at 10:30AM. and then take a walk around the grounds. The grounds, for the most part, are level; however, there are some hills. After our walk we will eat our bagged lunch at any number of places around the park. Directions:  I-287 S to Exit 36, following signs for Ridgedale Ave. (bear right in exit ramp). Proceed to traffic light, then turn right onto Ridgedale Ave. At 2nd traffic light, turn right onto East Hanover Ave.   Proceed for about 1/4 mile. Sunday May 7, 2017 11:00AM Appalachian Trail & Lunch We will walk part of the Appalachian Trail, about one mile each way across Pochuck Valley; this part of the trail is a very easy walk on the boardwalk. Saturday May 13,  2017 11:00 AM Sandy Hook Day at the Shore, Atlantic Highlands, NJ   Hike, bike or sit on the beach -. Enjoy your choice of activity during our time at the beach – walk along the shore or path, sit in the sand or visit historic structures - then assemble for an early dinner. We will meet at Parking Lot D between 12:00 and 12:30 or, if you would like to ride share, meet at the Parsippany Park & Ride at Waterview Boulevard and Route 46 at 11:00AM. After assembling at the beach we will eat our lunch, take a head count for dinner & then head out to enjoy the park. At 3:30PM we will assemble for dinner.  Bring a light lunch, a drink as well as beach gear. Saturday May 20, 2017 10:00AM Hudson Farm Walk/Hike 270 Stanhope Sparta Rd. Andover NJ. We will meet at Hudson Farms at 10AM near the registration table. Brace will take the group that wants to do the hike (it is not an easy hike). I would say it is moderate to difficult. For those who do not want to hike, Patty will lead them on a tour of the property’s buildings and estate house. At the end of the hike/tour, you will receive pay money (1 dollar for each year of your age) which you then get to donate to local Hopatcong charities. It is a fun community event. Sunday May 21, 2017 11:00AM  Weenie Roast & Trail Maintenance at Camp Jefferson Come enjoy the great outdoors while cooking your hot dogs over an open fire. We will need to do some trail maintenance, so please bring your shears, gloves and bug spray and help clear the trail. Directions to Camp Jefferson:  Take Route 80 from either direction to Route 15 North.  Take Route 15 North to Weldon Road (which is approx. 5 miles north of Route 80).  The Weldon Road exit from Route 15 is immediately after the Lake Shawnee exit.  Proceed on Weldon Road 7/10 of a mile. Saturday, June 3, 2017  8:00 AM Swartswood State Park, Swartswood  Lake for Sun, Funand Eats . Swartswood is N. J. first State Park founded in 1912. Free pass for seniors by calling (973)383-5230. There is a bathhouse and snack bar, and trails are an easy walk. The beach area is great. We will meet for a car caravan at the Rockaway Mall Food Court at 8AM. Travel along Route 15N up to Lafayette then take Route 94S to Newton (6Mi) to 206S, turning left at the corner. Go along to 519N and turn right. Turn left at the corner of Sussex County College onto Route  622 W, proceed 5 miles to Swartswood and then turn left onto 619S, proceed a short way to the Park. Directions: From Byram Twp. take Route 206  NW to Newton, go along Route 206 to Route 519N, then turn left onto Route 622. Sunday June 11, 2017 11:00AM Picnic Brundage  Park, Randolph $6.00 Come join us for one of OSF fantastic summer picnics. Admission is $6 and please bring a dish to share. We’ll have hot dogs & hamburgers with all the fixings-- also water & ice. We’ll start cooking about 11:00AM. Directions: Take Rt 287 to Exit 39  RT 10W (towards Dover)  Stay on RT 10 for about 6 miles—take the jug handle past Nagel’s Candy Store for Millbrook Ave, go ACROSS RT 10 for about 5 miles. You will pass Resurrection Church (on right) Firehouse (on left) to Carrell Rd. make a RIGHT –go about 1.5miles and on your left is Brundage Playhouse and the park. We are at the lower Pavilion. Lenape Indians are scheduled to be there for the entire Labor Day weekend. Directions:  Rt. 80W take exit 25 to Rt. 206 north.
